Software Product Manager

Responsiblities

  • Product definition:
    • Understand market needs, identify opportunities and build product vision, strategy and roadmap.
    • Work with technology team to deliver world-class products driven by customers, technology visionaries and domain experts.
    • Own product requirements, specifications, and release plans.
    • Drive feature delivery lifecycles: research customer and user needs, write user stories, partner with user-experience team for rapid prototyping, work with engineering to develop and deliver marketable products.
    • Participate in customer facing situations and user conferences as a product expert.
    • Engage with enterprise customers for requirements gathering and presenting roadmap updates.
  • Product leadership:
    • Own product business plan, and life cycle to maximize market share & revenues.
    • Collect and synthesize inputs from vertical marketing group, business units, engineering, sales, and the market to lead products and business direction.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure timeliness, quality and meeting market requirements.
    • Be the Company’s Product Evangelist!
  • Product positioning:
    • Analyze TAM, SAM, growth rate, market penetration, SWOT, and competitive analysis for the products.
    • Maintain cognizance of competitive activities, changes in their marketing strategy or tactics, and general trends that could affect product sales.
    • Propose product strategy changes in response to competitive changes in the marketplace. 
  • Pricing and value proposition:
    • Manage and optimize the long-term competitiveness, market share, and ROI of the product line.
    • Monitor product profit margins and work with responsible parties to execute corrective actions.
  • Product sales support:
    • Assess and recommend optimum distribution channel strategies.
    • Visit customers and team up with design engineers, vertical marketing group, applications to propose product solutions.
    • Develop sales tools with vertical marketing group, BU’s, marketing communication group.

  • Product promotion:
    • Contribute to the marketing communications strategy.
    • Deliver and support product collateral for field sales and applications teams.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong user experience/design sense, with a record of building great products
  • Good project management skills
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and handling sensitive customer situations
  • Knowledge of Salesforce products and APIs
  • Experience with mobile user interfaces a plus

Reuirements

  • Leadership DNA - proven ability to excite and lead a cross-functional team.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, product engineering, application engineering or field service.
  • Experience in delivery of successful SaaS solution(s) or networked systems.
  • Ability to gather and transform business requirements and market needs into a successful product strategy.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies like Scrum.
  • Strong organizational, inter-personal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Comfort in high-level business discussions with internal and external executives.
  • Proven ability to deliver on commitments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
  • Computer Science or other technical major degree.
  • Up to 20 % travel including overseas.
